Our Story

After a 25-year career managing and estimating high-stakes projects in the engineering and construction industry, Roger Farish founded ROMAN Consulting Group to bring independent expertise to the front end of capital projects. His focus is on estimating, scope development, risk management, and project governance — the areas that most directly shape investment decisions.

Experience in Estimating and Governance

Roger began his career with a Bachelor and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tulane University and went on to hold key roles at Bechtel, Fluor, Linde, and Kiewit. At Kiewit, he led the implementation of Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE), becoming a super user in developing cost models for oil, gas, chemicals, and energy transition projects. That experience helped shape the vision for ROMAN: to deliver objective early reviews that reduce uncertainty and support stronger investment decisions.

Scope Maturity Reviews with PDRI

Roger has facilitated Project Definition Rating Index (PDRI) reviews across a wide range of projects, helping teams measure scope maturity, identify gaps early, and align stakeholders before committing to major investment decisions.

Risk Reviews and Quantitative Analysis

Roger has extensive experience leading and performing risk reviews and quantitative risk analyses that test project assumptions, evaluate uncertainty, and strengthen project teams’ ability to make better-informed decisions.

Governance and FID Readiness

Roger has supported owners and boards through stage-gate governance and FID readiness reviews, helping teams confirm technical, cost, schedule, and risk alignment before funding decisions. This work reflects his belief that strong governance, not just strong numbers, is what gives leadership confidence to commit capital.
